Slimwood by Boral
Precision-milled to 13mm thick, thinner than the traditional tongue and groove
strip floors. Slimwood goes down directly over a structural surface
such as concrete or plywood, it is well supported and there is no disadvantage
in the thinner product. When compared to traditional 19mm tongue
and groove strip flooring, Slimwood still offers the same depth of wear (the
depth of the board that can be sanded and refinished) even the overall plank
is 6mm thinner.
Easy Installation
Slimwood solid timber flooring is designed to be glued down using Bostik Ultraset
polyurethane adhesive. As any solid timber product will be affected by changes
in the moisture content of the air, it is recommended that Slimwood is left
to acclimatise to its new environment for an appropriate time. In areas where
there is a concern with moisture, Bostik Moisture Seal should be used in conjunction
with Bostik Ultraset. Your new floor should then be professionally installed
and only takes a short time to install, sand and finish.
Versatility
Slimwood can be used in the following flooring applications:
- over a concrete slab
- over old timber floors - as long as they are flat
- over particleboard or plywood subflooring
Environmentally friendly
Timber is one of the world’s few truly renewable natural resources. The native hardwood that you buy from World of Timber is sourced from a forest that is sustainably managed through a rigorous framework of both Commonwealth and State laws and regulations.
